El fotógrafo que mira a los ojos || The photographer who looks into the eyes

            C/Embajadores 53 Madrid, Metro y cercanías: Embajadores

Horario: De martes a viernes de 12:00 a 20:00 y sábados, domingos y festivos de 11:00 a 20:00

*****************************************************************************

Miguel Trillo, mostly known as "the photographer of the Madrilenian scene" (La Movida Madrileña) has been photographing young people in concerts, night clubs, etc. since the 70’s.

His new project, Inflows. East Coast - West coast unveiled at the Tabacalera Art Space of Madrid in the month of September, took him five years of hard work and travelling through three different continents. Miguel Trillo’s photographs of the project Inflows. East Coast - West coast depict the rebelliousness of youth in Spain and abroad manifesting themselves through their appearances.

The exhibition Inflows. East Coast - West Coast is the result of two journeys; the black & white one and the other in color which meet together in three exposition halls where the photographed material is mixed together in order to show us that the same rebellious attitudes repeat over the years again.

The pictures in color take you to Vietnam, Morocco and the USA of today, meanwhile the black and white images taken in different districts of Madrid (Vallecas, Chamberí, etc.) show you the young people (not famous) in the 80’s, in the years of heavy, postpunk and hip hop, who posed for the photographer at the concerts or night clubs looking straight into the photographer’s camera. The common feature of Miguel Trillo’s photographs is that all the people that he has photographed look straight into his camera objective.
You can visit the exhibition at Tabacalera until 19 November, 2014.
